A Vivo, controlada pela Telefônica Brasil (VIVT4) informou nesta quarta-feira (15) que irá antecipar mais de R$ 1 bilhão para pequenos e médios fornecedores em meio à epidemia de covid-19 no Brasil.

A medida irá contemplar cerca de 800 fornecedores com o vencimento de pagamento programado até o fim de setembro deste ano e que atuam em setores crítico e com maior necessidades de liquidez, informou a Vivo.

A companhia de telecomunicação havia destinado o mesmo valor aos empresários em abril. Com o novo valor anunciado nesta quarta-feira, o montante soma R$ 2 bilhões no total.

A Vivo comunicou em documento que vem tomando atitudes para ajudar negócios desde o início da pandemia, como a abertura da plataforma seu programa de relacionamento Vivo Valoriza para o cadastro de pequenas empresas.

A empresa também destinou R$ 16,3 milhões para a compra de insumos e equipamentos hospitalares, além de doações para famílias em extrema pobreza e para redes de saúde.

Dona da Vivo vai ativar 5G em oito cidades a partir de 24 de julho

O vice-presidente de B2C da Telefônica Brasil, Marcio Fabbris, afirmou nesta quarta-feira, em entrevista ao Grupo Estado, que a companhia irá ativar o sinal de internet de quinta geração a partir de 24 de julho em bairros das cidades de:

  • São Paulo;
  • Rio de Janeiro;
  • Brasília;
  • Belo Horizonte;
  • Salvador;
  • Goiânia;
  • Curitiba;
  • Porto Alegre.

“Estamos trabalhando há muito tempo para ativar o 5G. Desde junho de 2018 vínhamos planejando isso”, conta. “O 5G será muito importante na digitalização do Brasil”, salientou o executivo.

Fabbris afirmou, no entanto, que as operadores ainda aguardam uma posição definitiva sobre a regulamentação da nova tecnologia e possíveis restrições à chinesa Huawei. A companhia tem sido barrada em alguns países por pressão do governo dos Estados Unidos.

“Isso [possível veto à Huawei] é uma variável que não controlamos. Se existir alguma regulamentação [restringindo a empresa], teremos que seguir. Em algum momento, esse assunto vai ficar crítico”, avaliou o executivo da dona do grupo controlador da Vivo.
