A multinacional de tecnologia Nokia pegou um empréstimo de US$ 561 milhões (aproximadamente, R$ 2,597 bilhões). Conforme seu relatório anual, montante ajudará a empresa a desenvolver sua tecnologia 5G.

O empréstimo da Nokia foi firmado com o Banco Europeu de Investimento (EIB). O negócio foi fechado em agosto de 2018 e tem um prazo médio de cinco anos. O valor foi disponibilizado em fevereiro, no dia 24.

Os investidores estão com a atenção voltada às finanças da Nokia. A empresa finlandesa interrompeu o pagamento de dividendos no final do ano ado. Segundo a companhia, será preciso investir mais dinheiro do que o esperado no desenvolvimento recente rede 5G.

“A Nokia usará o empréstimo para acelerar ainda mais sua pesquisa e desenvolvimento da tecnologia 5G, o padrão de telecomunicações móveis da próxima geração”, declarou a companhia quando o acordo foi fechado em agosto de 2018.

Estratégia da Nokia para desenvolver o 5G

A Huawei conseguiu se consolidar no mercado internacional. Atualmente, a empresa chinesa é líder no setor e fechou o terceiro trimestre com 28% da participação do mercado. Além disso, os produtos chineses são mais baratos.

Hoje, a Nokia em celulares atua no oriente por meio de uma união com uma estatal chinesa. São 17 mil pessoas empregada na empresa, esse valor corresponde a três vezes o total de empregados na Finlândia. A operação ocorre nas seguintes regiões:

  • região da grande China;
  • Taiwan;
  • e Hong Kong.

No meio do ano ado, a empresa assinou contrato de fornecimento de equipamentos e serviços à China no valor de U$ 1,1 bilhão. Além disso, assinou o contrato de venda de equipamentos 5G aos EUA, pelo valor de US$ 3,5 bilhões.

A Nokia é a segunda maior fabricante de equipamentos de telecomunicação do mundo. Em 2019, a empresa já havia alertado para a diminuição do volume de vendas. No entanto, espera uma expansão em 2020, conforme a implantação do 5G ganhe força.
