A gestora de recursos Castlelake anunciou nesta quarta-feira (15) que planeja investir até R$ 5 bilhões em energia renovável no Brasil durante os próximos cinco anos. A notícia foi divulgada após ter fechado a aquisição da unidade de geração da construtora Queiroz Galvão no país.

A Castlelake fará os aportes por meio da empresa adquirida, que agora recebeu o novo nome de Ibitu Energia. A gestora utilizará a nova empresa para operar uma carteira de empreendimentos locais que soma 832 megawatts em capacidade, informou a companhia nesta quarta-feira.

De acordo com o presidente da empresa, Gustavo Ribeiro, a medida anunciada pela Ibitu Energia tem o intuito de dobrar a capacidade de geração de energia nos próximos cinco anos. “Estamos avaliando todas as possibilidades para sustentar nossa expansão e trabalhamos, simultaneamente, na estabilização da companhia nos aspectos operacionais, organizacionais e financeiros”, afirmou ele, em nota.

O executivo acrescentou que a expansão poderia ocorrer de duas formas diferentes:

  • “Greenfield“: com investimento em novos projetos;
  • “Brownfield“: por meio da aquisição de ativos existentes;

Além disso, a empresa informou que está estudando o desenvolvimento de novos projetos de geração eólica, solar ou híbrida. Tal investimento resultaria em de 1,2 gigawatts.

A Braskem anunciou em junho o seu investimento em energia renovável

A Braskem (BRKM3) informou no mês ado que assinou um contrato de compra de energia renovável com a Canadian Solar Inc. A informação foi divulgada por meio de um comunicado ao mercado da companhia.

Segundo a Braskem, a aquisição está em “linha com a sua estratégia de ampliação do uso de matrizes energéticas limpas em suas operações industriais”. Esse é o terceiro contrato de compra de energia renovável competitiva assinado pela empresa.
