Elon Musk volta a tuitar sobre Dogecoin e moeda avança mais de 50%

A Dogecoin avança, por volta das 15h20, cerca de 52%, negociada a 4,86 centavos de dólar. A grande alta, mais uma vez, é causada por uma fala de Elon Musk. O diretor-executivo (CEO) da Tesla voltou a declarar seu apoio à moeda no Twitter durante a madrugada desta quinta-feira (4).

A criptomoeda, entretanto, ainda está distante da sua máxima histórica, registrada no dia 29 de janeiro, em que superou o valor de 7 centavos de dólar. Nesta ocasião, a Robinhood, plataforma que se tornou famosa entre os pequenos investidores americanos, chegou a limitar a negociação do ativo.

Os aportes na Dogecoin na última semana vieram após o aplicativo de investimentos ter interrompido a negociação das ações da GameStop (NYSE: GME) em meio a movimentação da comunidade do Reddit conhecida como /r/WallStreetBets que buscava causar uma alta não-natural da companhia para forçar investidores institucionais a um short squeeze.

Na ocasião, os usuários da rede social começaram a investir na moeda digital em uma espécie de protesto contra o mercado financeiro. A interpretação foi que autoridades intervieram para impedir maiores prejuízos dos hedge funds: a Dogecoin surgiu de uma piada, um meme, do Twitter em 2013 e até hoje a imagem oficial da moeda é um cachorro com cara de assustado.

Elon Musk é grande apoiador dos memes

Recentemente, Elon Musk vem preocupando especialistas do mercado financeiro por ter uma visível influência sobre o valor de ativos. O bilionário apenas nas últimas semanas impulsionou ações como a da desenvolvedora de games CD Projekt, ao elogiar o Cyberpunk 2077, criado por ela,  da Etsy, ao elogiar o e-commerce especializado em artesanato, e da GameStop, ao incentivar o próprio movimento do Reddit.


No caso da Dogecoin, não é possível saber se Musk realmente gosta do ativo ou se solta frases de apoio como forma de humor. O bilionário sul-africano tem toda um histórico de gostar das piadas da internet, mas, ao mesmo tempo, já afirmou que essa criptomoeda é “de todas as pessoas por não precisar de muito capital para adquiri-lá”.
