O montante envolvendo fusões e aquisições tiveram a somatória de R$ 84 bilhões no primeiro semestre de 2018. Este é o maior valor nominal desde 2010.

Em base mensal, o crescimento é de 54,8%. Até o mês de junho foram concluídas 43 operações, sendo que a maiores delas a compra da Fibria pela Suzano, em negócio fechado por R$ 47,7 bilhões. Outras grandes aquisições que merecem destaque são a compra da Eletropaulo pela Enel por R$ 7,57 bilhões e a Somos Educação pela Kroton.

Metade das operações (48,8%) acorreram entre empresas nacionais. Estas, movimentaram cerca de R$ 58,6 bilhões do volume total de compras. Já negócios envolvendo a compra de empresas brasileiras por estrangeiras movimentaram R$ 19,2 bilhões. A compra de empresas estrangeiras por empresas nacionais totalizou R$ 6,2 bilhões (7,4% do total).

Em modalidade de negócios, 47,7%, das transações se trataram de incorporação. 37,7% foram de aquisição de controle e 2,7% corresponderam a compra de participação monetária.
